New Polish National Rugby Stadium is open!

15.02.2010

Yesterday there was a huge party in Gdynia. At 17:00, the new National Rugby Stadium was officialy open. It belongs to Arka Gdynia, but we hope that we are going to see a lot of good international games there.

The main part of the ceremony, was the freindly game between the Polish National team (without our French players) and Arka Gdynia. Of course White&Red (our national colours) won quite easyly 33:5 (19:0) but Arka fought for a long time and showed few impressive attacks.

The new stadium has a place for 2500 spectators and it can be extended with not a lot of money. There is an artificial grass, which is quite good because you can play there during whole year (other pitches are usually frozen and covered with snow) but the problem is, that if you want to play rugby there, you need a agreement of the oponent. This is a grass, designed specially for rugby and passed all the necessary tests but we still don't know if Moldova will agree to play there agains our team in April...

You'll find the photogallery from that game soon on our website. You'l see there that Poland is Catolic country, because there was even a prist who "sacrificed" the new stadium.

More news coming soon:)
